It has been a truly heavenly day on Maharani today. With each post more captivating than the previous, it is hard to choose my favorite pictures. I really love the shot of the wedding rings, but at the same time, the Thai dancers are a fantastic, fusion touch. I do, however, love Shrada’s wedding reception lengha….the royal color and the low back just look divine.
This was a 4 day Sindhi Wedding held at the Sheraton, Hua Hin in Thailand, The couple is based out of Dubai so this was their destinationwedding & for us, it became one of our favorite weddings to date. This stylish couple/wedding had every glamour we werelooking for. From their invites to their wish tree, everything was impeccable. We have filmed several big fat indian weddings in Udaipur, India, Africa and have seen one of the finest weddings in California/New York but this Indian wedding with thai fusion was really special. The Sheraton Hua Hin itself is beautiful, surrounded by lagoon water with several rooms having direct access to the lagoon pool. The food was the best part as the hotel does have an indian chef, which is one of the key reasons why Shradha & Kunal choose Sheraton over other resorts in Hua Hin.
Destination Indian weddings require so much planning and proper execution, especially in aplace like Hua Hin- there is always a problem of sourcing everything. A lot of the decor pieces/center pieces/accents were flown in from Dubai & that itself is quite a daunting task but everything from decor/flowers/lighting etc was arranged & co-ordinated by Mrs Rhimjhim Bhagchandani, She barely slept over those 4 days ,and we watched her take care of EVERYTHING. She would only have enough time to change her outfits and then head out to overlook the decor for the next event. The bride & groom themselves took upon serious duties as they managed transport for all guests arriving from Bangkok as well do room allocations, I have not seen a more dedicated couple. We are just so excited to share this wedding with everyone & hope it gets the attention it deserves!

Kunal and Shradha out-did themselves as they followed up on an extravagant and fun welcome dinner with a phenomenal Wedding Sangeet. They chose pink as the color of the night and we’re loving the way the bride’s designer lehnga flows with the pink décor.
Changing it up from the traditional singing and dancing, this couple brought in none other than the Prince of Bhangra, Sukhbir Singh. Now that’s a Sangeet I wish I was invited to!

The best part of it all is that a lavish wedding do is virtually immune to economic cycles, Bhagchandani believes.
Dubai: Why would anyone want to step out of the arc lights that come with being a celebrity events planner? Let’s just look at two of the perks that come with being one — a chance to micro-manage high-profile events and constant and personal interactions with celebrities.
But Rimjhim Bhagchandani preferred to walk away from it all. “When I started, we lived in simpler times,” she said. “At that stage, live shows in Dubai were truly appreciated [and] the number of artists, sponsors, venues and media avenues were limited.
“Today, Bollywood-related shows far exceed the popularity of classical music events. Also, while the fees for artists have shot up, sponsorship fees have not increased proportionately. Recovering the investment on a live show has thus become more challenging.”
It is an existentialist crisis that stalks many an entrepreneur. Once a business reaches a certain scale and finds it difficult to make the next transition, declining returns could then set in and even turn out to be fatal to the business’s longer-term prospects.
The solution, as far as Bhagchandani was concerned, was to tune into a new career trajectory — that of being a wedding planner. She disagrees —politely — with the suggestion that switching business profiles must have been difficult.

“Personally I don’t see working with weddings to be a transition since the same principle of creating unique eventsapplies strongly,” said Bhagchandani, who holds the working title of director at Rimjhim Events. “Today’s weddingsinvolve bringing together a broad range of ideas that require the assistance of a wedding plannerto maintain an organised flow of events.
“The market for wedding plannershere is very encouraging [and] the rate card depends on the scope of work provided by the client.”
Bhagchandani certainly has struck a chord there. Weddings are getting more complex and planning them requires as many management skills as a business school can teach you and then some they don’t. The role of wedding plannerstoo has received a high gloss with both Hollywood and Bollywood churning out movies based on that theme.
In a case of life imitating art, planning glitzy weddingsare packing in the kind of budgets that a small-scale movie producer would be proud of. “We handled engagementsof Dh4 million to Dh6 million plus where we have hosted a minimum of 400 guests.
“Clients don’t mind spending money as long as they feel the expenses are justified. No one wants to compromise on a once in a lifetime wedding.
“For every event — depending on the destination and the client’s requirement — we bring together a specialised team. It’s extremely important to keep up to date with the latest innovations in the industry and I make it a point for us to attend workshops and seminars.
“It is not about the number of people on a payroll, but bringing together talented team members who share a vision.”

“I don’t believe that the global slowdown has significantly impacted the industry. Budgets do vary from client to client, but seldom do they vary based on where we are in the economic cycle.
“But we have to work harder to create value in the minds of the clients during recessionary periods.”
Moreover, there is no such thing as an off-season. “Weddings happen throughout the year and across all our destinations. Rimjhim is awedding planner who doesweddings all accross the globe. I do not recall ever having an off-peak season.”

Says Mili: “We were amazed to see her at work—her aesthetic style, boundless energy and attention to detail. And Kunal’s family took care of all the hospitality and food arrangements and they did a fabulous job. The bride and groom worked equally hard—they took upon serious duties like coordinating transport and room allocations. Even with all the preps and planning, they were dedicating serious time into filming their love story in Bangkok as well as getting photos taken early in the morning after staying up all night from their reception, to get good portraits in daylight, as that was the only time slot available between the hectic events.”

What could be a more befitting signage for Amreen & Faisal’s Wedding ( The Nikaah)
The venue was the impressive Safinah ballroom of the gorgeous Jumeirah Beach Hotel. A beautiful evening that truly reflected the meaning of marriage, family values, love and commitment.
The foyer was illuminated with hundreds of twinkling white candles that surrounded a huge floral centerpiece giving a warm welcoming feel to the guests who walked in. The first part of the evening was the Nikaah which was solemnized by the Qazi. Trays of dates and Rooh Afza were passed around as mark of the completion of the nuptials.
A radiant Amreen looked like a true princess sheathed in a traditional lehnga choli. Her ensemble accessorized by stunning diamond and precious gem stones jewellery. Faisal on the other hand looked equally regal in his designer Sherwani.
Post the nuptials the festivities began in full force with a spectacular LED show followed by Bollywood dancers who created the right mood for the DJ to take over the evening.
The ballroom was bathed in a pink hue (Amreen’s favorite color) Clusters of paper flowers served as the illustrious backdrop complimented by clear towering vases featuring vanilla orchids and splash of hot pink roses. Lounges were accentuated with shimmering pink cushions. The hot pink pure silk overlays and chair sleeves with glowing candle light on the tables and a customized monogram gobo floating across the room completed the look.
The towering weddingcake prepared by the master chef of Jumeirah Beach Hotelwas cut amidst bubbles and haze effects giving the special moment an ethereal effect. The Wedding Plannerfor the event was Rimjhim Events who does weddingsand destination weddingsaccross the globe.
